Progress Records

Tracking and Celebrating Your Child’s Growth

We believe every child is on their own unique journey, and that families should be part of it every step of the way. Three times a year, our educators complete Progress Records that give you a clear, meaningful picture of how your child is growing, learning and developing.

How We Observe and Record Learning

Our educators are always watching, listening and taking note of how your child engages with their environment, peers and daily experiences. These observations build a picture of your child’s growth across key areas including cognitive, social, emotional, language and physical development.

When reviewing what they’ve observed, educators ask themselves:

  • What learning is evident - is it new or different?
  • How is this learning meaningful for this child?
  • Are any particular interests or strengths emerging?
  • Are there areas where additional support would be helpful?

Linked to the Lifelong Learning Curriculum and EYLF

Each Progress Record is assessed against our Lifelong Learning Curriculum, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and recognised developmental milestones, so your child’s learning is always intentional, appropriate and meaningful for where they’re at.

Parent-Teacher Conversations

After each Progress Record is completed, your child’s educator will arrange a time to sit down with you. These relaxed conversations are a great opportunity to:

  • Hear about your child’s learning, interests and achievements
  • Set some goals together for what’s next
  • Talk about school readiness and upcoming transitions
  • Ask any questions or share anything on your mind

We really value these chats - they’re one of the best ways we can work together to support your child.
