What to Bring to Childcare
A Simple Guide to Help You and Your Child Feel Ready
We want every morning drop-off to feel easy and stress-free. Here’s a handy guide to help you pack everything your child needs for a happy, comfortable day at Aussie Kindies. If you’re ever unsure about anything, just ask your Centre Manager - we’re always happy to help.
Every Day Essentials
- Labelled water bottle - to keep your child hydrated throughout the day
- Wide-brimmed hat - for safe outdoor play
- A full change of clothes - for spills, water play or toileting accidents (pack extras if your child is toilet training)
- Comfort item if needed - a small toy, blanket or family photo for reassurance
- Rest time sheets - a cot-sized fitted sheet and light blanket (check with your centre for specific requirements)
Additional Items for Babies and Toddlers

Seasonal Items
Warm weather:
- Sun-safe clothing (lightweight, covering shoulders)
- Extra changes of clothes for water play days
Cool weather:
- Warm layers - jumper and jacket
- Beanie for outdoor play
- Closed-toe shoes
Please Leave at Home
- Toys from home (except comfort items)
- Valuables or breakable items
- Medications (unless provided to educators with a completed medication form)

Lost Property
Labelling everything - clothing, shoes, drink bottles and sheets - is the best way to keep track of your child’s belongings. Check the lost property area at your centre regularly and let an educator know if something goes missing. We’ll always do our best to help.
