At Aussie Kindies Early Learning, we want your child to feel comfortable, safe, and ready to explore, play, and learn every day. To help you prepare, we’ve created a handy checklist of everything your child will need when attending our centre.
Essential Items to Bring Each Day
- Labeled water bottle – to keep your child hydrated throughout the day
- Wide-brimmed hat – for sun-safe outdoor play
- A full change of clothes – including underwear, socks, and weather-appropriate clothing (pack extra if your child is toilet training)
- Comfort item (if needed) – a small teddy, blanket, or family photo for reassurance
- Sheets for rest time – a cot-sized fitted sheet and a light blanket (check with your centre for specific requirements)
Additional Items for Babies & Toddlers
- Nappies – if your child is not toilet trained (some centres provide nappies—please check with your centre)
- Formula or expressed breastmilk – if required (we have safe storage available)
- Dummies (if used) – in a labeled container for hygiene
- Comforter (if needed for sleep time)
Seasonal & Weather-Appropriate Items
Warm-weather essentials:
- Sun-safe clothing (lightweight, covering shoulders)
- Extra changes of clothes for water play
Cool-weather essentials:
- Warm layers (jumper, jacket)
- Beanie for outdoor play
- Closed-toe shoes
Items to Leave at Home
- Toys from home (except for comfort items as needed)
- Valuables or breakable items
- Medications (unless provided to educators with a medication form)
- Plastic bags, sharp objects, or mobile phones (for safety reasons)
Lost Property
We understand that little ones can sometimes misplace their belongings! To help keep track of your child’s items:
- Label everything – including clothing, shoes, drink bottles, and sheets
- Check the lost property area regularly for missing items
- Ask your child’s educator if something has gone missing
Our educators do their best to help keep track of personal items, but we encourage families to clearly label all belongings to prevent loss.
