Positive Living Skills
Supporting Wellbeing and Resilience from the Start
Positive Living Skills is an evidence-informed wellbeing program, endorsed by Beyond Blue, embedded across all Aussie Kindies centres as part of our Lifelong Learning Curriculum. It gives children practical tools and strategies to understand their emotions, build resilience and develop the kind of positive relationships that support them throughout life.
Free family resources are available to support learning at home - ask your Centre Manager for access.
What Children Learn
Through interactive activities and engaging stories, children develop key personal and social skills across five areas:
- Healthy self-esteem - building confidence in who they are
- Emotional regulation - learning strategies to manage big feelings
- Positive relationships - practising kindness, empathy and inclusion
- Growth mindset - developing persistence and resilience in the face of challenges
- Healthy living - understanding the connection between movement, nutrition and wellbeing
Meet Possa Bill
Possa Bill is the warm and loveable mascot who guides children through the Positive Living Skills program. Confident, curious and kind, Possa Bill models the values at the heart of the program - empathy, gratitude, persistence and personal best. Children love learning alongside him, and the character gives educators a natural, engaging way to bring big ideas about wellbeing to life in the classroom.
