Healthy Habits, Happy Kids: How Aussie Kindies Supports Your Child’s Wellbeing

In Celebration of World Health Day – 7 April

At Aussie Kindies Early Learning, every giggle, snack, and outdoor adventure plays a part in building your child’s wellbeing. In honour of World Health Day (7 April), we’re shining a light on how we help children develop healthy habits in fun, meaningful ways - right from the start.

Because when children feel well, they’re free to play, explore, and grow into their happiest, healthiest selves.

Healthy Meals That Kids Love

We know that a good day starts with good food. That’s why our in-centre cooks prepare fresh, balanced meals and snacks each day that meet the Australian Dietary Guidelines.

From crunchy veggies and whole grains to lean proteins and seasonal fruit, we serve up a rainbow of flavours that support growing bodies and busy minds. Our mealtimes also help children build independence—learning to pour drinks, serve food, and enjoy meals together.

Explore our Healthy Menu & Nutrition page to learn more about how we support fussy eaters, allergies, and dietary needs with care.

Did you know: Research shows that healthy nutrition in the early years supports stronger immunity, better focus, and improved behaviour in young children.

Outdoor Play and Active Fun

There’s nothing like outdoor play to spark joy, encourage movement, and support overall health. At Aussie Kindies, children enjoy daily outdoor adventures, rain or shine - because we know movement matters.

From nature play and obstacle courses to group games and dancing, our outdoor environments are made for running, jumping, climbing, and exploring. Every bit of movement helps children develop strength, coordination, confidence - and most importantly, a love of being active.

Yet according to the Royal Children’s Hospital, most children under five aren’t getting enough physical activity.³ We make sure movement is a big part of every child’s day.

Helping Children Feel Emotionally Safe and Supported

Health and wellbeing aren’t just about what children eat or how much they move. Feeling safe, connected, and emotionally supported is just as important.

Our educators build strong, caring relationships with every child and family, creating an environment where children feel secure and seen. We help little ones:

  • Recognise and name their emotions
  • Build friendships and take turns
  • Learn calming techniques like breathing or mindfulness
  • Express themselves confidently and kindly

These are big skills for little people - and we support them every day through our Lifelong Learning Curriculum.

A Whole-Child Approach to Learning and Wellbeing

Our Lifelong Learning Curriculum, exclusive to Aussie Kindies and other Affinity Education centres, is designed to support every part of your child’s development - socially, physically, emotionally, and cognitively.

We focus on nurturing children from the inside out, so they can become confident, capable learners who care for themselves and others.
